Veronica "Roni" Garcia, 65, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital.

Veronica "Roni" Garcia, 65, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital.

She was born May 6, 1948, at Garden City to Mike and Helen Guerrero Orozco.

She married Lencho Garcia on Sept. 28, 1964, at Garden City.

A lifetime Garden City resident, Garcia attended St. Mary Catholic School and Garden City Public Schools. She worked at IBP in the processing department.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joshua Garcia; and two brothers, Steven and Patrick Orozco.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Charlotte Gomez of Garden City; five sons, Richard Garcia and Vincent Garcia, both of Garden City, Giles Garcia of Lawrence, Lawrence Garcia of Fowler, and Alan Garcia of McCook, Neb.; a brother, Danny Orozco of Garden City; a sister, Diana Martinez of Garden City; 32 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

A rosary is 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the Veronica Garcia Memorial Fund.
