DIGHTON — Dean Earl Wilson, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

DIGHTON — Dean Earl Wilson, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born April 4, 1929, to Earl and Consuella Fullmer Wilson in Gove County.

Mr. Wilson was a member of United Methodist Church of Gove, a longtime member and past president of the Healy School Board; served on a state committee on education and was a past member of the Healy Co-op Board. He served in the United States Air Force and was a lifetime farmer-stockman.

On March 1, 1952, he was married to Gaye McNeil in Walters, Okla. She died June 8, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Earl Dean Wilson; one brother, Keith Wilson; and two sisters, Delila Speer and Janie Johnston.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Roemer, and Mary Ann Ming; one son, Carl Wilson; one brother, Rex Wilson; one sister, Amy Willis; two stepbrothers, Forrest York and Dwight York; one stepsister, Maxine Wilson; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Dighton. Burial will follow at Gove Cemetery, Gove.

Calling hours are noon to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton.
