HUGOTON — Joan B. Spikes, 86, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at her home.

HUGOTON — Joan B. Spikes, 86, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at her home.

She was born Jan. 18, 1927 at Hugoton to Robert and Thelma (Farmer) McIlrath.

She married Warren W. Spikes on Dec. 7, 1948 at Clayton, N.M. He survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Toby Spikes of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Kirk Spikes of Olathe, and Scott Spikes of Hugoton; a daughter, Ann Spikes of Wichita; three sisters, Margaret LaVon Holt of Liberal, Retha Holt of Hugoton Hugoton, and Delores Bullard of Hugoton; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Shirley Dillmon.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton.

Graveside services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hugoton Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Kansas Humane Society and City of Hugoton Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home.
