ULYSSES — Jose A. Ibarra, 63, of Ulysses, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

ULYSSES — Jose A. Ibarra, 63, of Ulysses, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born April 5, 1950, in Guadalupe, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Jesus and Leocadia Del Rio Ibarra.

He married Blanca E. Sosa on Feb. 15, 1974, in Guadalupe, Zacatecas, Mexico.

He moved to Ulysses in 1977. He was owner and operator of T&T Trucking.

Survivors include his wife, Blanca, of the home; two sons, Antonio S. Ibarra and Jose Ibarra, Jr., both of Ulysses; a daughter, Elizabeth Contreras of Ulysses; two brothers, Manuel Jesus Ibarra Del Rio and Ramon Ibarra Del Rio, both of Mexico; two sisters, Maria Guadalupe Ibarra Del Rio and Alicia Ibarra Del Rio, both of Mexico; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Juan and Jose Luis.

Vigil service is 7 p.m. Friday, and funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
