HOLCOMB — Hortencia Garcia Rios, 92, Holcomb, died Wednesday Jan. 14, 2014, at her home in Holcomb.

She was born Oct. 4, 1921, in Laredo, Texas to Pedro and Agapita Delgado Garcia. She married Manuel Molina Rios in 1940 in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death.¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ ¬ 

She and her family moved to Kansas in 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents, various siblings, a son, Andrew Rios and a daughter, Carmen Jurado.

Survivors include 12 children: Manuel Rios Jr., Scott City, Pete Rios and Tony Rios, both of Garden City, Lupe Rios, Holcomb, Juanita Otero, Garden City, Mary Garcia, Holcomb, Anita Treto, Dodge City, Elena Rios, Denver, Ramona Gandarilla, Holcomb, Betsy Villanueva, Garden City, Francis Rios, Garden City, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Vigil service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, and funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, also at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
