Crystal Maxine Travers, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

Crystal Maxine Travers, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

She was born Jan. 24, 1933, in Garden City, to Don R. and Allie Christmas Kells Carroll.

She married Harvey Harold Travers in Rocky Ford, Colo., on June 19, 1951. He preceded her death.

She was a homemaker, a school bus driver for USD 457, a tax preparer and a Walmart employee.

She was a member of the First Church of God in Garden City. She also belonged to the Grange, the church choir, a ceramic club and enjoyed playing the piano.

Survivors include two sons, Mel Travers, and Glen and wife Debra Travers, all of Garden City; two brothers, Roy Carroll of Cheyenne Wells, Colo., and Raymond Carroll of Manzanola, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Duane and James Carroll; and four sisters, Velda Carroll, Inez Dew, Ethel McClure and Florence French.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Garden Valley Retirement Village or Homestead Assisted Living Center, both in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
