ELKHART — Ann L. Atwood, 80, of Elkhart died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

ELKHART — Ann L. Atwood, 80, of Elkhart died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

She was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Mesa, Ariz., to Albert D. and Bertha E. Creasman Long.

She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Wheaton College. She was a teacher.

She married George E. Atwood on Aug. 28, 1961, in Mesa, Ariz.

Survivors include a son, Steven Atwood of Elkhart; a daughter, Carolyn Morris of Hutchinson; a sister, Mary Robinson of California; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Albert D. Long Jr.

Services are 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to breast cancer research or the donor's choice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
