Michael P. Beck, 66, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at his home in Garden City.

Michael P. Beck, 66, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at his home in Garden City.

He was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Elgin, Ill, to Paul and Ada Beck.

Mr. Beck served in the United States Army from July 1967 to September 1970 during the Vietnam War. He was a plant manager. In the early 1970s, he married Cherise Yvonne Clements in Elgin. She survives.

He also is survived by a sister, Robin Loveless of Stillman Valley, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service was to be held at 11 a.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will take place at a later date at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Ft. Dodge. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials given to Wounded Warriors in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
