ULYSSES — Floadene Hertel, 89, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses.

ULYSSES — Floadene Hertel, 89, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses.

She was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Hanston, to Henry H. and Hazel Belle Schamaun. She graduated from Hanston High School in 1941.

A Ulysses resident since 1946, Mrs. Hertel was employed at Ulysses Co-op Oil & Supply for 32 years, retiring in 1986.

Survivors include her adopted family, Victor and Toney Hernandez of Ulysses. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gladys Hertel Meier.

Graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to the Hanston Senior Center, Grant County Senior Center or St. Catherine Hospice, all in care of the funeral home, 218 S. Main, Ulysses, KS 67880.
