GARDEN CITY — Donald Chester Hendrickson, 80, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Homestead Health and Rehabilitation in Garden City.

GARDEN CITY — Donald Chester Hendrickson, 80, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Homestead Health and Rehabilitation in Garden City.

He was born on Aug. 3, 1932, to Arthur and Mamie Bamberger Hendrickson on the family farm near Hanston. On June 10, 1951, he married Ada Goller in Hanston. She survives.

A resident of Garden City since 1956, Mr. Hendrickson was a custom cattle buyer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys and Kansas Livestock Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lawrence Hendrickson; and two grandchildren, Erica and Brad Hendrickson.

Survivors include: two sons, Jess and his wife, Theresa Hendrickson, Golden, Colo., and Mark and his wife, Sandy Hendrickson, Jetmore; two daughters, Debi Asper, Garden City, and Jana and her husband, Tom Beery, Los Alamos, N.M.; one sister, Madonna Cossman, Hanston; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Memorials may be given to the Fellowship Of Christian Cowboys or United Methodist Committee On Relief, both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.
