ELKHART — Mari Carmen Nava, 36, died Friday, June 6, 2014, in Beaver, Okla.

She was born Dec. 1, 1977, in Elkhart, to Carmen Franco and Josefina Alvarado Franco.

She had been a resident of Elkhart since 2007.

Survivors include three sons, Jaime Franco and Jorge Martinez, both of Elkhart, and Carlos Martinez of Hagerman, N.M.; a daughter, Emilie Franco of Elkhart; her father, of Hobbs, N.M.; her mother, of Artesia, N.M.; five brothers, Emilio of Roswell, N.M., George of Amarillo, Texas, Efrain and Alex, both of Pampa, Texas, and Fernando of Guymon, Okla.; three sisters, Maria Calderon of El Paso, Texas, Lucima Martinez of Artesia, and Ana Franco of Elkhart; and her grandfather, Eluterio Alvarado of Guymon.

Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart. Burial will follow at Elkhart Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart. Memorials to the Mari Nava Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
