Mary Williams, 90, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

Mary Williams, 90, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Ludie, Texas, to Gnorby W. and Ethel Sundi Powell. She graduated from high school in Breckenridge, Texas.

A Garden City resident since 1946, she was a beauty operator for more than 60 years and owned Vanity Beauty Shop in Garden City.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie and husband Ronald Naab of Garden City. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward Powell; and a sister, Marguerite Bishop.

Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
