JOHNSON CITY — Ona Corrine Barber, 92, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Stanton County Memorial Living Center in Johnson City.

JOHNSON CITY — Ona Corrine Barber, 92, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Stanton County Memorial Living Center in Johnson City.

She was born Oct. 25, 1921, near Natoma, to Laurence and Pearle Webb Nelson. She graduated from Natoma High School in 1939.

On Oct. 27, 1940, she married Edd Barber in Rooks County. He died in 2001.

Survivors include a son, Laurence Thomas of Wichita; a daughter K. Ellen of Johnson City; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Nelson of Norton.

Funeral will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Johnson City. Burial will follow at Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson City.

Visitation hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson City. Memorials are suggested to Stanton County Memorial Living Center or Bethel Church of the Nazarene, both in care of the funeral home, Box 715, Johnson City, KS 67855.
