MOSCOW — Lorenzo Montoya, 54, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Via Christie Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

MOSCOW — Lorenzo Montoya, 54, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Via Christie Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

He was born Nov. 22, 1959, in Mexico, to Heriberto and Candelaria Fabela Montoya.

A resident of the Sublette and Moscow communities, Mr. Montoya was a farmer.

Survivors include two daughters, Cruz and Isela Montoya, both of Moscow; five brothers, Alfredo Montoya of Satanta, Juan Montoya of Greely, Colo., Emilio Montoya of Fort Hancock, Texas, Felix Montoya of Juarez, Mexico, and Vicente Montoya of Socorro, Texas; and three sisters, Cruz Santillan of Moscow, Felicitas Trejo of Anthony, N.M., and Hilda Lechuga of Garden City. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fidel, Heriberto and Geregoria Montoya; and two sisters, Abrahana Longoria and Paula Montoya.

Funeral Mass will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette. Vigil Service will begin at 7:30 tonight at the church.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Sublette. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to the Lorenzo Montoya Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
