HUGOTON — George Henry Burrows, Jr., 88, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.

HUGOTON — George Henry Burrows, Jr., 88, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.

He was born on June 4, 1925, to George Henry Burrows, Sr. and Valentine (Vallie) Horner in Stevens County.

On Sept. 1, 1945, he was married to Jewell Higgins Burrows at First Christian Church Parsonage in Hugoton.

Mr. Burrows was a lifetime resident of Stevens County and worked as an EMT.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Kenneth Burrows of Hugoton; two daughters, Shirlene Hagler and Lori Rome, both of Hugoton; one brother, Everett Burrows of Hugoton; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis G. Burrows; two brothers, Ernest Burrows and Ray Burrows; and three sisters, Fern Burrows, Pearl Carley and Maudie Cott.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Hugoton. Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Paul's Funeral Home, 314 S. Van Buren St., Hugoton.

A memorial has been established for Pheasant Heaven Charities. Memorials may be mailed to Paul's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Paul's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
