Clair A. "Doc" Murry, 86, of South Coffeyville, Okla., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.

Clair A. "Doc" Murry, 86, of South Coffeyville, Okla., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.

He was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Garden City, to Clarence and Tilla Sturdevant Murry. He graduated from Garden City High School. On March 28, 1954, he married Jean Cook in Garden City.

Mr. Murry retired as the administrator of SEK Area Vocational Technical School in Coffeyville. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, John Murry of Garden City, and Bob Murry of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Ann Gustafson of Lake Quivira, Sue Williams of Fredonia, and Cathy Garner of Pittsburg; a brother, Bill Murry of Lincoln, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will begin at noon Saturday at the South Coffeyville Community Center in South Coffeyville.

Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
