MOSCOW — Lenard Norton, 81, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Satanta District Hospital.

MOSCOW — Lenard Norton, 81, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Satanta District Hospital.

The son of William Sr. and Julie Gentry Norton, he was born Aug. 20, 1932, in Holdenville, Okla.

He and Bernice Mills were married May 8, 1951, in Adamson, Okla.

Mr. Norton moved to Moscow in 1951.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Wayne Norton of Moscow, and Johnny Layne Norton of Liberal; three daughters, Lynne Bernice Fink and Linda Jean Shaddix, both of Moscow, and Vicki Lyn Gaskill of Hugoton; a brother, Omar Norton of Moscow; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; five brothers, James Norton, Linzy Norton, Milmo Mitchell, Ernest Norton and William Norton Jr.; and three sisters, Venita West, Louie Bell Body and Doylene Bell.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Moscow. Burial will be at Moscow Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials to the Lenard Norton Memorial Fund may be mailed to the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
