HORACE — Marion Joe Young, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.

HORACE — Marion Joe Young, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.

He was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Fellsburg, to Marion Lyle and Ada Lavina Derley Young.

A resident of Greeley County since 1946, Mr. Young was a farmer.

On Sept. 23, 1961, he married Sherry Schlotfeldt in Tribune. On April 2, 1977, he married Carolyn Crouch in Garden City.

Survivors include a daughter, Carmelle Nemechek of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren; and a brother, Neil Young of Tribune. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wilma Prosser.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. MDT Monday at the United Methodist Church in Tribune. Inurnment will be at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune.

Memorials are suggested to the Greeley County Health Center or the United Methodist Church, both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune.
