Join the slumberfest tonight at YMCA

The Garden City Family YMCA will have a slumber party tonight, featuring swimming, games and activities, a snack and a showing of the movie "Free Bird." Breakfast will be served in the morning before parents pick up their kids.

Fees are $15 for child-care participants, $20 for member participants and $40 for program participants.

YMCA offers water aerobics

Garden City Family YMCA has two adult water aerobic classes starting on Feb. 17.

"Water in Motion" provides a low-impact, high-energy challenge for participants of all ages, skill and fitness levels. Classes are offered Monday and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m.

"Power Waves" is a non-impact workout that focuses on cardiovascular and strength training using various equipment and movements. This class is from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Cost for each class is $30 for members and $60 for program participants. The deadline to register is Tuesday.
