Richard Maynard of Garden City has been selected to exhibit his artwork during the 45th Annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition.

Richard Maynard of Garden City has been selected to exhibit his artwork during the 45th Annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition.

Maynard's art piece, "Fire Forest," was selected by juror Sherry Leedy to receive a $200 cash award.

The art exhibition will open as the anchor of the Hays Arts Council's Spring Art Walk from 6:30 to 9:30 tonight at the Hays Art Center, 112 E. 11th in Hays.The exhibition continues through June 5.

Fun Night at Edith Schuerman Elementary

Edith Scheuerman Elementary, 1901 W. Wilcox St., will hold a Family Fun Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Tickets for games, activities and concessions will be available, four for $1.

There will also be a silent auction with a number of items available to bid on during the event.

There will be many games, food court, and a photo booth for the entire family to participate in during the evening. Hot dogs, chili and nachos will be available through ticket purchase.

Free vaccination for dogs clinic

The Finney County Humane Society is offering a free vaccination clinic for dogs.

Parvo/distemper shots will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the south side of the Garden City/Finney County Animal Shelter, 124 N. Fleming St.

Dogs must be on a leash.

Country Fever at the Eagles Lodge

A dance featuring "Country Fever" will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles Lodge, U.S. Highway 83 and Mary Street.

Admission for the dance, which is open to the public, is $7.50 per person.

Fiddlers, Pickers, and Singers at Senior Center

The Garden City Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers will begin performing at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St.

The monthly program of old-style country music is free to the public. Anyone wishing to perform is welcome to sign in to take a turn in the rotation of musicians and singers.

A carry-in supper will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (bring your favorite covered dish), followed by more music until 9 p.m.

Admission is free to the public.
