Fish Fry time on Friday

The Knights of Columbus is having a fish fry with all the sides on Friday.

The dinner will be served from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the KofC Hall, 205 N. Eighth St.

Church celebrates anniversary, dedication

A dedication service for Pierceville Federated Church and a 60th anniversary celebration of its association with Village Missions is set for this weekend at the church, 203 E. Avenue A in Pierceville.

The dedication service on Saturday begins with a noon lunch and continues until around 2 p.m. with recognition of workers, a building dedication and special music by Judy Fortner. A celebration concert featuring Vici Meyers from Wichita will begin at 7 p.m., followed by refreshments.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, the 60th Anniversary celebration of Village Missions' partnership and leadership will feature a special time of remembrance and reminiscing with former missionaries and special music by Fortner.

At the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday, the Rev Brian Wechsler, Village Missions director, will be preaching, with special music by Meyers. A fellowship dinner will follow at 12:15 p.m.

Train show set for this weekend

The Garden City/Boot Hill Model Train Show is set for this weekend in the Exhibition Building at the Finney County Fairgrounds in Garden City.

The show, which benefits Miles of Smiles Therapeutic Riding Program, will feature operating layouts and train vendors. A lunch counter will be available.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

GC Schools headed for Spring Break

Garden City Public Schools will observe Spring Break from Monday to March 21. School will not be in session. The Educational Support Center (ESC), 1205 Fleming, will be closed on March 21. The Teacher Resource Center, at the ESC, will be closed during the week.

Classes will resume March 24.

St. Mary Catholic open house is March 27

St. Mary Catholic School will be hosting an open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 27.

The church invites prospective families to stop by and take a look at what it has to offer, including 4-year-old pre-school, all-day kindergarten and first- through sixth-grade classes.

All denominations are welcome.
