The 16th annual German supper at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St., is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The menu will include chicken borcht, smoked sausage, bierocks, vereneka with sausage gravy or caramel sauce, seasoned green beans, homemade sauerkraut, zwiebach, choisca moos, pluma moos, pfefferneusse and homemade pies.

The entertainment will feature vocalist Cindy Smith Dial from 4:30 to 5:25 p.m.; toe-tappin' favorites with Billy and Loretta Whitfield of Syracuse from 5:30 to 6:25 p.m.; and old-time fiddle music with Garden City brothers Joe and Jon Irsik from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

An added feature this year is, with a $20 donation, your name will be placed in a drawing for a four-night stay at a log home in Florissant, Colo.

Meal tickets are $15 for adults (free for age 5 and younger) and may be purchased by calling 275-9651. They also may be purchased at the door, but reservations are preferred to guarantee meals are available still.

All proceeds from the event will be used for the benefit of GVRV residents and local charities.
