Garden City Downtown Vision is seeking entries for the annual Burtis Motors' Evening Christmas Parade, scheduled for Dec. 7.

GCCC enrollment for spring begins soon

Public enrollment for the 2013 spring semester will begin Dec. 4 at Garden City Community College. For currently enrolled students, enrollment will begin Monday.

GCCC has scheduled hundreds of daytime and evening classes for the new term, which will get under way Jan. 15.

Registration will be available at the Student and Community Services Center during the following hours each week: from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The campus will be closed for the holidays from Dec. 23 to Jan. 5.

Class schedules are available at the SCSC, and course opportunities also may be viewed at, under "Search for Classes." Numbers to call for information are 276-9608 at the Admissions Office or 276-7611, which is the main campus line.

Date for Potters Guild Art Sale set

Art students at Garden City Community College will show off and sell their art work at the 2013 Potter's Guild Holiday Art Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 11 in the lobby of the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building.

The sale will feature a collection of one-of-a-kind, handmade pottery, plus other ceramic and sculptural items, created by first-time and veteran students from GCCC art courses.

Most pieces are in the price range of $5 to $50.

The sale will include vases, dishes, bowls, plates, platters, cups, candleholders, jugs, pots, wall hangings, ornaments and additional creations from a number of artists, some well-known in the area.

Students will wrap and sack selections, and can accept either cash or checks. Anyone with questions may reach the instructor at 276-0419.The group conducts the sale each December as the fall semester closes, and also sponsors a spring sale each May.
