Stones school literacy night on Thursday

Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center, 401 Jennie Barker Road, will

have a Family Literacy Night from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the


"CSIC...Jazzed about Reading" is the theme for the event, with a jazz

pianist playing during the night. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be

served in the school cafeteria from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

The literacy activities will take place from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Activities will include a book walk, Jeopardy games, family tree

activity and many more events during the evening. There also will be

drawings for literacy baskets. Everyone who attends will receive a book.

Family Literacy Night provides students and their parents an

opportunity to obtain materials that would help them work together on

literacy skills at home.
