Family fun night set for Thursday

Family fun night set for Thursday

Garfield Early Childhood Center, 121 W. Walnut, will hold a Family Fun Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Tickets for games, activities and concessions will be 25 cents each or five for $1. There will be a large number of silent auction items available to bid on during the night.

Games include candy bar walk, pop toss, duck pond, feed the eel, bean bag toss, and many more. Hot dogs and goldfish crackers will be available through ticket purchase.

Second Friday film showing soon

This week's selection in the Second Friday Films series shown at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St., is "Beasts of the Southern Wild," a 2012 drama-fantasy.

The films are at 7 p.m. on the second Friday of the month. No admission is charged and refreshments are available.

Musical programs set for next week

Two musical programs are scheduled next week at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St.

"Road Runners" will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday and "Classic 3 (Piano Man)" will perform at 7 p.m. Friday.

The public is encouraged to attend at no charge.

St. Patrick's Day party is at Garden Valley

A St. Patrick's Day party is planned for Saturday in the Fireside Lounge at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St.

The evening will include music by "The Blue Notes" band, free refreshments and fellowship.

The public is encouraged to attend at no charge from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

USD 457 seeks budget volunteers

USD 457 is looking for volunteers to help in the development of its budget for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

The district will once again be using the program budgeting process and will hold its budget work group meeting from 5 to 9 p.m. March 24 in the Garden City High School Arts and Communications Resource Area, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd.

An important part of the budgeting process is the involvement of parents and community members in listening to the various proposals and participating in the prioritization process. If you are interested in participating, contact KJ Knoll at 805-7007.
