Senior center pitch

Robert Loper won high in the four tables of senior center pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Isabel Finch and Vi Fry tied for second place. Third went to Maybelle Bowen.

Senior center double pinochle

Mary Joseph won high in the three tables of senior center double pinochle played Monday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Donna Preston. Bob Ellis took third.

Beacon Booster 4-H

The Beacon Booster 4-H Club met June 11, with members answering roll call by naming another country. There were nine members, two community leaders and one visitor present.

Kourtney Goss gave the treasurer's report. Hunter Goss made a motion to approve the treasurer's report and it passed.

Keith Strasser announced that the next meeting would be held at a park and the club would go swimming at the Garden City Big Pool. Tyler Cloud gave a presentation on getting your goat ready for spring shows.

Duplicate bridge

The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club played a 25-board Howell movement Monday. With competition, 31 games still succeeded, nearly one-third in no-trump, along with three slams. Jon Craig and Wen Wurst gained first place with a 61 percent game. Virginia Enslow and Irene Bryant took second place, just one board ahead of Gerry Schultz and Jerry Soldner.

Regular games begin at 7 p.m. Monday, 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St., with all bridge players welcome. For partners, call Jon Kempton at 276-2876.
