GCPD investigating drive-by shooting

Garden City Police are seeking an individual in connection with a drive-by shooting that took place early Friday morning.

According to a press release from the Garden City Police Department, at about 1:45 a.m., officers responded to 1310 Hattie St. for a reported drive-by shooting.

Police determined that four adults were inside the residence when an unknown man dressed in dark clothing approached the house on foot. The man fired several shots from a rifle into the house and into a pickup that was parked in the driveway before fleeing the scene. No one was injured.

Garden City police Sgt. Michael Reagle said the type of rifle believed to be used in the shooting is not yet being released, and there is no apparent motive for the shooting at this time.

According to police, the shooting caused about $4,500 worth of damage. The investigation is ongoing as they search for the suspect.
