Garden City police on Thursday found the dead body of a 62-year-old Garden City man who they say died of self-inflicted wounds.

Police responded at 5:46 p.m. to a residence in the 100 block of North Third Street in reference to a welfare check. Concerned family members requested a check for a family member who they were unable to locate.

Officers found the man deceased in an exterior building of the residence. Police have not yet released the man's name.

Police say the man died of self-inflicted injuries, although they have not released the cause of death. No foul play is suspected, and the investigation is still ongoing.
