TODAY, MARCH 1

N.E.W. (Never Ending Workshop): Open to children age 3 to 6, with this session's project being "Spinning Paints," 2 to 3 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St. Fee is $3 for non-members; $2 for members. A parent will need to stay with their child. Space is limited to six children, and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

MONDAY, MARCH 3

TUESDAY, MARCH 4

Musical variety program: Gospel music featuring "The Copeland Mennonite Singers," 7:30 p.m. (note time change this week only) at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge. For more information, call 275-5036.

Mardi Gras celebration and pancake supper: Featuring bingo at 4 p.m., pancake games at 5 p.m., and a supper at 5:30 p.m., featuring pancakes, sausage gravy on biscuits, applesauce and King's Cake (cost is $7) at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5

ARTful Afternoons: Drop in and create art from 4 to 5 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St. There is no fee for the class. Space is limited to 20 people and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

THURSDAY, MARCH 6

Musical program: Featuring singer/songwriter John Berry, 7:30 p.m. in Clifford Hope Auditorium at Horace J. Good Middle School, 1412 N. Main St. This is a performance in the Southwest Kansas Live On Stage concert season. Tickets are $25 for adults and $6 for students. Entertainment program: Featuring Lee Richardson Zoo's Zoomobile, 3 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge.

Walls & Halls art program: Available to students in fourth through 12th grade, 4 to 5 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St. Fee is $10 for non-members; $5 for members. Registration is required. Scholarships are available.

SATURDAY, MARCH 8

Dance: Featuring "The Blue Notes," 8 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, U.S. Highway 83 and Mary Street. Open to the public.

Artist's reception: "Beyond Black & White," an exhibition of the works of Shane Chapman, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Garden City Arts Gallery, 318 N. Main St. (refreshments will be served). Works will be on display until March 29.

Health Department and WIC

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
