Walk Whoa Ball: Miles of Smiles Therapeutic Riding Program's 15th annual event begins with hors d'oeurves and item viewing at 6:30 p.m. at the Clarion Inn Ballroom, followed by the dance and auction at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 per person in advance at the Miles of Smiles office, Baker Boot, Crazy House or Garden True Value. Nature Explore Classroom: Grand opening at 11 a.m. at the area located outdoors on the southwest side of the Finney County Public Library. The 10,000-square-foot classroom features an entry arbor, gathering circle, gardening area, nature art, water wall, a stage and music area, an open movement area, a building block area, a secret pathway, a messy materials area, a climbing area, and a water pump and sluice.


Classic Gospel Sing-along: Open to all area musicians and the general public, 4 p.m. at Heaven Bound Cowboy Church, 1202 S. Second in Dodge City. For more information, call (620) 846-7046.


Musical variety program: Featuring the music group "Old Time Country," 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge. For more information, call 275-5036.


Annual Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat: 6 to 8 p.m. at Garden City Church of the Nazarene, 2720 N. Campus Drive.


Halloween treats: Residents will hand out candy for the trick-or-treaters beginning at 6 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St.

Blood drive: Noon to 6 p.m. in the South Room at the Grant County Civic Center in Ulysses (bring your donor card or photo ID; donors must be 17 or older and weigh at least 110 pounds; walk-ins welcome).

Trunk-or-Treat: A safe place to go trick-or-treating, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Church of Christ, 1715 Pioneer Road. This is a free event for kids.


Banner Art Auction: Tickets are $35 each, which incudes the auction admission, the social at 7 p.m., followed by a full buffet dinner and the auction at 8 p.m. at the Clarion Inn Ballroom, 1911 E. Kansas Ave. For more information, call 276-0891 or email vision@gcdowntown.com.

Health Department and WIC

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
