Duplicate bridge

Duplicate bridge

The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club had a regular session Oct. 28 as seven pairs vied to score with 28 boards.

Competition produced 32 games, one-quarter in no-trump, plus three slams. Six of the hands played identical contracts but just two with identical results.

A mere 60 percent game was enough for Jon Kempton and May Craig to take first place. Faye Anderson and Pat Barber trailed by 3 percent for second place.

Virginia Enslow and Dorothy Bartlett held third, back just 5 percent.

Regular games begin at 7 p.m. Monday, 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St., with all bridge players welcome. For partners, call Kempton at 276-2876.
