Students named to KU honor roll

Approximately 4,450 undergraduate students at the University of Kansas earned honor roll distinction for the spring 2013 semester.

Approximately 4,450 undergraduate students at the University of Kansas earned honor roll distinction for the spring 2013 semester.

The students, from KU's Lawrence campus and the schools of allied health and nursing in Kansas City, Kan., represent 96 of 105 Kansas counties, 41 other states and the District of Columbia, and 43 other countries.

Area honorees are as follows:

James Burkett Pauls, of Syracuse is a junior studying in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Clinton Chastain, of Ulysses, is a senior studying mechanical engineering. He was named to the honor roll for the School of Engineering.

Scott Duesing, of Garden City, is a senior studying exercise science. He was named to the honor roll for the School of Education.

Johnathan Fairbanks II, of Garden City, is a senior studying linguistics. He was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Joseph Franzitta, of Cimarron, is a sophomore studying pre-education secondary. He was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Erin Fulton, of Garden City, is a senior studying musicology. She was named to the honor roll for the School of Music.

Cory Gleason, of Cimarron, is a senior studying finance. He was named to the honor roll for the School of Business.

Jacob Govert, of Tribune, is a sophomore studying psychology. He was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Celine Govert, of Tribune, is a Prof 1 studying pharmacy. She was named to the honor roll for the School of Pharmacy.

Trinity Graff, of Marienthal, is a senior studying biology. She was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Heather Hansen, of Garden City, is a Prof 1 studying pharmacy. She was named to the honor roll for the School of Pharmacy.

Kaitlyn Hemann, of Hugoton, is a senior studying applied behavioral science. She was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Emily Hess, of Scott City, is a junior studying strategic communication. She was named to the honor roll for the School of Journalism.

Laci Kinser, of Hugoton, is a senior studying pharmacy. She was named to the honor roll for the School of Pharmacy.

Mark Linenberger, of Garden City, is a senior studying for a Professional Master of Architecture. He was named to the honor roll for the School of Architecture, Design and Planning.

Kyle Maddox, of Cimarron, is a senior studying mathematics. He was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Katelyn Marlin, of Sublette, is a sophomore studying film and media studies. She was named to the honor roll for the School of Arts.

Brittany Mesa, of Garden City, is a sophomore studying biology. She was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Honor roll criteria vary among the university's academic units. Some schools honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled, some establish a minimum grade-point average and others raise the minimum GPA for each year students are in school. Students must complete a minimum number of credit hours to be considered for the honor roll.
